WhAT TO EXPECT

The Experience:

I stand at the front of the shala, heart still racing from guiding the last posture, and look out at the sea of bodies resting in savasana. The light filters through the jungle shala, soft on their skin, and the air feels thick with quiet. Their chests rise and fall in rhythm, and for the first time, I feel the silence not as emptiness but as fullness – a silence that vibrates with presence.

Here, in this queer space, the stillness doesn’t just reflect inner peace – it mirrors the courage it took to show up exactly as you are. In a room of queer men and queer‑aligned peers, vulnerability tempts strength and openness becomes a bridge. There’s a magnetic pulse to this silence – it’s the shared resonance of queer presence, authenticity, and embodied truth.

Inside my own body, there’s a buzzing – a trembling in my hands, a warmth rising in my chest, almost like I’m glowing from the inside out. My throat feels tight, not from nerves anymore, but from the ache of gratitude. A part of me can hardly believe that I just led them here – that my words, my choices, my breath carried the group to this place of surrender.

Emotion surges like a tide – relief, joy, pride, and something deeper, almost sacred. My eyes sting as I watch them lying there, so vulnerable, so whole. And I recognize that what makes this unique is not just the asana sequence or the ritual – it’s the relational alchemy of queer men learning to show up for themselves and one another in a profound way. Teaching yoga isn’t about performing or being perfect. It’s about offering myself, my practice, my heart – and trusting that it’s enough. Standing there, with their stillness mirroring my own, I feel more alive, more connected, and more certain than ever that this is the path I was meant to walk.

Curriculum:

This training is built around five core pillars that together create a path toward embodied knowledge and authentic expression:

  1. Practice (Asana & Pranayama):
Daily movement, breath, and alignment work ground the training in direct experience. You’ll deepen your relationship with your body and develop the capacity to guide others with presence and care.
  2. Sequencing Intelligence:
More than memorizing flows, you’ll learn how to build sequences that are purposeful, safe, and energetically aligned – rooted in the natural progression of life and the internal logic of the body.
  3. Tantric & Ayurvedic Theory:
Explore the energetic anatomy of the subtle body, the elements, doshas, and cycles of balance through the lens of Ayurveda and Tantra. This pillar offers a holistic map of your inner terrain and tools for personal healing.
  4. Yogic Philosophy:
Study the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and foundational Vedic texts to understand the deeper purpose of yoga – and how these ancient frameworks can support clarity, compassion, and evolution in modern life.
  5. The Art of Teaching:
This is where it all comes together. Through workshops, feedback, and self-reflection, you’ll uncover your authentic voice as a teacher – learning to lead from lived experience, coherence, and care.
