Out & Wild: Into The Jungle

07/12/2026 - 07/18/2026

High-Level Program Overview

A 7-day plunge into the wilds of Costa Rica, where big adventure meets unapologetic queer joy. Guided by biologist and Discovery Channel’s six-time Naked and Afraid champion Dan Link, you’ll trek throughout the week from the towering Diamante Falls through a chain of jungle cascades all the way to the legendary Nauyaca Falls, rappelling down thundering waterfalls, and pick up primal skills that’ll have you channeling your inner queer Tarzan in no time. And don’t worry—this isn’t survival TV. No bug dinners or sleeping on the ground. Instead, each day you’ll enjoy delicious meals, cozy luxury cabins, and the kind of jungle comfort only Qasa can provide.

But this retreat is about more than adrenaline. Between your canyoning and hikes, you’ll melt into yoga flows, aerial arts, and sound baths, and spend your evenings laughing with a chosen family you’ll keep long after the week ends. Every adventure is optional—whether you’re diving headfirst into the action or soaking it all in from a hammock with a cocktail in hand.

Who It’s For & Why People Come

This retreat is for you if you’re ready to…

  • Tap into your inner explorer and surprise yourself with what you can do.
  • Dive into physical adventure- comfort with moderate hiking and basic swimming ability recommended to get the most out of the experience.
  • Feel the rush of challenge while wrapped in the safety net of queer community.
  • See jaw-dropping landscapes that’ll make your old Grindr profile pics green with envy.
  • Break through old fears and step into confident, grounded leadership.
  • Laugh until your cheeks hurt around a jungle campfire.
  • Disconnect from screens and stress.
  • Remember that joy and play are as essential as food and water.

WhAT TO EXPECT

The Experience: My heart is still racing as I unclip from the ropes—holy hell, I actually did it. The rappel felt like flying through liquid sunlight, and now I’m floating at the base of the waterfall, the spray cool against my skin. I lean back in the water, face to the sky, sun warming my cheeks while the jungle hums all around. This is one of those moments you wish you could bottle forever.

Then—splash!—a perfect, unapologetically naked butt arcs through the air from a cliff above, landing in the river just a few feet away. We both surface laughing, harder than I have in a long time, water streaming down our faces. Queer joy, jungle magic, and just the right amount of mischief.

Program Highlights (all optional):

  • Hike and rappelling at Diamante Falls, Costa Rica’s tallest waterfall.
  • 90-foot waterfall rappel and canyoning adventures.
  • Canyoning hike to legendary Nauyaca Falls.
  • Primitive wilderness survival workshop with Dan Link.
  • Embodied practices: yoga, aerial arts, sound healing (one with an optional mycelial microdose ritual).
  • Tantra Lite workshop to explore the body and pleasure in a safe space rooted in consent.
  • Local waterfall explorations and swimming holes.
  • Pre- and post-retreat virtual prep and integration sessions + online community access.
  • On-site luxurious massages and spa treatments available throughout, including for those who wish to hang back from adventure tours.

Schedule Overview

Mornings might start with yoga in the open-air pavilion or coffee in your hammock before heading out to chase waterfalls, scramble over boulders, or learn survival tricks from Dan that make you feel like a queer Indiana Jones. Afternoons bring a balance of movement, skill-building, and splash-worthy play—whether you’re rappelling through spray, perfecting your aerial arts, or swimming in jungle pools.

Evenings are for community: group meals that feel like family dinners, laughter echoing under the stars, sound baths in the warm night air, and the occasional impromptu dance session. Every day holds space for both adrenaline and exhale, so you leave feeling exhilarated and deeply replenished.

WhAT TO EXPECT

The Experience: The raft drops into the rapid and for a split second we’re airborne—water explodes over us, my paddle slicing at nothing but foam. I’m screaming, laughing, clinging to the edge while the river tosses us around like it has a personal vendetta. And then—just as fast—we slide into the stillness of an eddy. The world slows. My breath catches.

I look around at the soaked, beaming faces of my crew—eyes wide with that holy-shit-we-just-did-that glow. As we drift into a gentler stretch, the guide signals, and someone flops backward into the water with theatrical flair. Within seconds, half of us are overboard, bobbing in the sun-warmed shallows, floating on adrenaline and hilarious jokes. The jungle leans in, the air buzzing with life, and I can’t remember the last time I felt this wild and free.Yes please, to all the queer joy, jungle magic, and just the right amount of adventure.
