Out & Wild: Splash – Jan, 2027

Jan 4 - 10, 2027

An immersive water adventure through Costa Rica’s mangroves, waterfalls, and wild landscapes.

High-Level Program Overview

A 7-day plunge into the wilds of Costa Rica, where big adventure meets unapologetic queer joy. Guided by biologist and Discovery Channel’s six-time Naked and Afraid champion Dan Link, you’ll trek throughout the week from the towering Diamante Falls through a chain of jungle cascades all the way to the legendary Nauyaca Falls, rappelling down thundering waterfalls, and pick up primal skills that’ll have you channeling your inner queer Tarzan in no time. And don’t worry, this isn’t survival TV. No bug dinners or sleeping on the ground. Instead, each day you’ll enjoy delicious meals, cozy luxury cabins, and the kind of jungle comfort only Qasa can provide.

What To Expect

The Experience

My heart is still racing as I unclip from the ropes—holy hell, I actually did it. The rappel felt like flying through liquid sunlight, and now I’m floating at the base of the waterfall, the spray cool against my skin. I lean back in the water, face to the sky, sun warming my cheeks while the jungle hums all around. This is one of those moments you wish you could bottle forever.

Then—splash!—a perfect, unapologetically naked butt arcs through the air from a cliff above, landing in the river just a few feet away. We both surface laughing, harder than I have in a long time, water streaming down our faces. Queer joy, jungle magic, and just the right amount of mischief.

Dan Link

Dan Link is an internationally renowned biologist, adventurer, queer rights advocate, and primitive survivalist who brings a unique perspective to the outdoors. Growing up as a self-proclaimed ‘weird kid’ in a small town in Upstate New York, Dan discovered his passion for nature early in life. His love for the outdoors led him to a career as a dedicated biologist for Hawai’i’s remote Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument, where he combines conservation with adventure and strives to protect ecosystems worldwide.

Dan’s outdoor expertise has been showcased in five successful primitive survival challenges on Discovery Channel’s Naked and Afraid franchise, culminating in his recent victory on Naked and Afraid competition spinoff ‘Last One Standing’. These achievements highlight his remarkable mental resilience, advanced outdoor skills, knack for adventure, and unmatched recognition as a skilled gay survivalist. As a fierce advocate for diversity and inclusion, his visibility in a traditionally rugged and heteronormative space such as wilderness survival has made him an influential figure for LGBTQ+ representation in outdoor and adventure communities.

Dan’s work is committed to pushing boundaries and breaking societal norms while fostering personal growth and promoting diversity and authenticity in outdoor spaces. His journey aims to inspire others to push their limits and explore the transformative power of connecting with nature.
