Pride didn’t begin as just another party.
It began as a refusal to keep hiding. A collective moment of queer people saying: we are here, we are whole, and we will not keep shrinking ourselves to make the world more comfortable.
Underneath the glitter, the music, and the celebration, that original pulse is still there.
Radical self acceptance. Community without performance. Joy that comes from being surrounded by people who understand something about your life without needing the whole backstory.
And somewhere along the way, Pride became easier to consume than to feel.
The nights got louder. The events got bigger. The photos got better. But for many of us, something still felt missing once the glitter settled.
